God loved
Adam and Eve more than all the other creatures He had created. Man was His
beloved child, that's why He took special care of his food and dwelling. As an
affectionate Father that He is, He put the protoplasts to live in Paradise.
Paradise was
a large and beautiful garden, between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers
of Mesopotamia. In this vast garden small and big animals were living
peacefully. Colourful birds were flying here and there all day spreading sweet
melodies. The trees were loaded with abundant fruits. Colourful plants and
flowers were spreading their fragrance everywhere. Many small rivers were
silently crossing this vast garden of Paradise and were irrigating it with
their crystal clear waters.
Adam and Eve
were living happily in this wonderful garden. They lacked nothing. Everything
was at their disposal. They were picking beautiful and nutritious fruits from
the trees and they were playing with the animals as friends.
Man was
really the king of Paradise!
God was
pleased with the joy of His children and blessed them more and more, so they
would live happily in Paradise.
He told them
that He had made this beautiful garden for them and that His will was for them
to take care of it. He also told them that as long as they will love
God their Father and faithfully follow His divine commands, they
will always be joyful and happy. The whole of creation would love them and
offer them whatever they wanted and desired.
When God put
the protoplasts in Paradise, He gave them a command:
“You may eat
all the fruits of all the trees of Paradise. But you must never eat the fruits
of the tree, called "the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil".
He wanted in
this way to test them, to see, how loyal and obedient they would be to Him.
Through obedience to His divine command it would show how much they would love
and trust Him, but also how worthy they would be of His infinite divine love.
That's why He warned them:
“If you
don't obey Me and eat from the fruits of the forbidden tree, you will have
great sorrow and misfortune. You will immediately leave Paradise, you will lose
the joy and happiness you have here now and you will die”.
So, having given this command to the protoplasts, God blessed them and let
them live freely in Paradise.
