10. The Tower of Babel

Noah lived many years after the flood and died at a great old age. His descendants, with God's blessing, again became many, great nations.
With the passage of time they made progress in the arts and culture. But again, sin managed to lead astray most of the people into its nets. Many people began to forget the holy will of God and to live without respect and love to the one true God. Among the other passions that possessed their souls, was also pride, the worst of all sins.
The people then had the same habits and they were speaking the same language. Most of them were living on a very fertile plain in the country of Shinar.
But as the years passed and their numbers increased, they saw that they could not stay there any longer. So they decided to separate and go to other places, so they could live more comfortably.

9. Noah's Ark

Adam and Eve, as well as Cain and Abel, had many other children, boys and girls, who all gave birth to more children, and so the population increased. But they were not all faithful to the true God. Most of them ceased living according to God's will and became very bad and wicked. Only evil dominated their minds and hearts.
God was very saddened by how far these people had fallen into evil ways. But these people, unfortunately, were going from bad to worse. Then God, in order to bring them back from this great downfall into sin, decided to punish them with a great flood.
But among them was just one pious and righteous man, Noah, who had three married children, Shem, Ham and Japheth. God wanted to save only him and his family, so that mankind would not be lost.

8. CAIN AND ABEL (The destructive power of jealousy)

The life of Adam and Eve outside Paradise was very difficult and harsh, as God had told them. With much pain and effort they were cultivating the land, to have everything they needed for their survival.
Eve gave birth to a boy and named him Cain and after a little while she gave birth to a second son and named him Abel. The two children were helping their parents in the cultivation of the land and the care of the animals.
When the boys grew up, Cain became a farmer and was working in the fields, while Abel became a shepherd and was looking after the sheep.
Adam and Eve had the good habit of offering the best animals they had as sacrifices to God or the best fruits of the trees and plants they were cultivating.

7. Man leaves Paradise

In Paradise the protoplasts had all the good things of the world. They were cultivating the land and were extremely happy. They were keeping the command given to them by God, and that is why they were happy.
Unfortunately, however, this carefree and peaceful life did not last long. The devil was jealous of their happiness and decided to harm them, by pushing them into disobedience.
One day, therefore, when Eve was walking in Paradise, the devil entered into a snake, and as Eve approached, he asked her with a pretended interest:

6. Man in Paradise

God loved Adam and Eve more than all the other creatures He had created. Man was His beloved child, that's why He took special care of his food and dwelling. As an affectionate Father that He is, He put the protoplasts to live in Paradise.
Paradise was a large and beautiful garden, between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers of Mesopotamia. In this vast garden small and big animals were living peacefully. Colourful birds were flying here and there all day spreading sweet melodies. The trees were loaded with abundant fruits. Colourful plants and flowers were spreading their fragrance everywhere. Many small rivers were silently crossing this vast garden of Paradise and were irrigating it with their crystal clear waters.

5. God creates man

In six days, with His single command, God created the immense firmament with the bright sun and the countless stars, and the earth with the trees, the flowers, the various tame and wild animals, as well as the sea filled with small and large fish.
However, there was one thing missing from this magnificent and beautiful creation, there was no being to rule over all His creations on earth. So God decided to create His most beautiful and perfect creation, man, to rule over all His creation.
However, while for all the other creatures God created them with a single command; He declared that they were to be created and they were created immediately; man was created in a completely different way.

4. From Angels they became Evil Spirits

God was very saddened by the selfishness and ingratitude of Lucifer and also by the angels who followed him. But He was more saddened, because even though they knew that what they were doing was wrong and were offending their God, they had no regrets and did not apologize for their mistakes. So, in order not to infect the holiness of the heavenly kingdom, He sent them out of it.
Upon leaving, Lucifer and the angels who followed him out of the heavenly kingdom, were immediately abandoned by the grace of the Holy Spirit and the light with which they were shining was lost. From beautiful beings they became so ugly, that no one could look at them without fear and terror at their satanic form!

3. The Spiritual World of the Angels

Before God created the material world we see, that is, the sky, the earth and later, us humans, He first created another world, the spiritual world.
It is called a spiritual, intangible and invisible world, because it is not material, so we cannot see it with our human eyes. This spiritual world is the angels of heaven.
In our Creed we say: "I believe in God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible."
So our good God created a countless multitude of angels fluttering around His heavenly throne and praising Him continually with their angelic voices.

2. The creation of the world

Many, many years ago, my children, all this wonderful world we see today did not exist. Neither the vast sky with the bright sun and the numerous stars, nor the land with the animals, the plants and the flowers. There was no sea with fish, nor even us humans. An immense darkness was spreading everywhere.
Only our good and eternal God existed.
God, Almighty that He is, Who can do whatever He wants, created this beautiful material world that we see with great wisdom, but He also created another spiritual world that we cannot see with our eyes. The angels of heaven belong in the spiritual world which He created even before our material world.

1. The Book of Life

Dear our children,
The purpose of this book is to help you learn that all this wonderful creation of heaven and earth we see is the work of our Almighty God.
It also wants you to know that this God is not only the creator of the whole world but also the sweetest, loving and merciful Father for all mankind.
Our one and triune God, that is, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, is the Light of all the world. He is, my children, like the sun that sends its rays to the earth, so that we can all enjoy and be delighted by its light and warmth. God the Father, who is the sun, sends His Son to the earth like sunbeams of joy and hope, to flood with the grace of the Holy Spirit, with light, peace and happiness, those who trust Him, love Him and obey His divine commands.
